The CS Club and the IEEE club will be cohosting the next meeting. Sun Microsystem will be bringing in their developers and they will be talking about the following:

  • MySQL
  • Project Kenai
  • Sun’s Academic Initiative

This will be more hands-on than our previous meetings.

As usual, there will be free pizza and drinks. The new programming challenge will be up! There will be prizes!

Open Call for Sign Board Designs

Greetings CS Club members this is the announcement of an open call for sign board designs for the new CS Club sign board.

Here are the specs on the board:

  • 4′ X 2.5′ plywood surfaces front and back
  • Surfaces are rough, might need sanding for fine painted designs
  • There is about a 2″ lip to each board on the sides, maybe you want to put racing stripes on the sides or something wild like that

Our first meeting is going to be more of a social event rather than usual professor/industry representative lecturing. We’re going to have a survey about social activities, to see what you want to do this year. We’ll also be giving out the first bi-weekly programming challenge (more about this at the meeting). As usual, free pizza and drinks will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
